Federal Census records for the Surname EDGE
Terry Edge has been logging in the records from those I have collected over the years. If you have others to add, please send them to us. You will find some with no data. They will be from indexes as opposed to actual records. The Remarks column will sometimes contain a note by whatever researcher supplied the entry. Please do NOT take it as fact, merely as a supposition.
Also as time permits, some of us will access online images and update the current records that we have. Please remember that this is not an "all inclusive" list. 1790 thru 1830 have been fairly well updated and the image numbers for Ancestry.com images are in the remarks column. I started adding a few notes on some of the alternative spellings I had found, but it became too much work to continue. Please be sure to look under all the spellings you can think of as you are researching. I even found one that had been indexed as "Eage" that was (upon a very close look) found to be Edge.

I have uploaded an alphabetical listing of the census records Ancestry.com has online for 1790-1830 This is a listing of Edge and soundex or sound-like spellings as well as those that could be "typos." Many of the soundex entries were removed as they did not appear to be likely alternatives. I choose these years as critical because of the period in which I needed to find my ancestors and for the fact that early records were badly spelled and written (more so than later, when spelling became more important). I did not look up the online images for all of them, but did so for the ones I thought to be most important. You will find those entries in the Excel spreadsheets for the appropriate year.
