Sale of Slave by Sion Edge and
Mary Dame Book C pg 233, Jones County, GA 1811-12
Be it remembered that on this 15th day of May 1811 we Sion Edge and
Mary Dame have for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and
fifty dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged have bargained and sold and delivered a certain Negro Boy
of the Name of Solomon about nine years old which said Negro we do
warrant and forever defend from each of us and each of our heirs and
all lawful claims as witness we have set our hands and seals the day
and date above written

Came before me Devaney Weathers and after being duly sworn deposeth and
saith That he saw Sion Edge and Mary Dame sign the written Bill of Sale
for the contents there in contained That he saw this desponant sign the
same as a subscribing witness and further saith he saw John Dame sign
the same as witness sworn to before me this 31 day of August 1811
