Edge folk from various family lines These are a few of the photos I have recently received. Some of the descriptions are pretty good while others are a bit sketchy. If you know any of these folks and can provide better descriptions, please let us know. Also, if you can provide photos and descriptions of your folks, please send those as well.

Here's my part that Robin Linn said I'd send to confirm the strong family traits of the Edges. Zachary Taylor Edge (only photo we have of him) was John Allen Edge's brother. Son of Minor Edge and Spicey Hart.

Photo of Emma Vess "Ma" Edge after Zachary's death. He died 21 days after birth of the youngest child. Ma was 40. Oldest son would have been about 18.

The brothers sitting on porch. Another boy died at birth and Minor died in WW I. All of them were over 6 feet tall. My dad was 6'4" The resemblance is very strong. Interestingly, Emma Vess was also tall as were their daughters. Emma's father Andrew Jackson Vess was 5'11". I have individual photos of each of the Edge boys if you want them. If you look at the photo Robin sent of her father, you can see that he would fit in the photo with my father and uncles and you wouldn't think him out of place at all.

Previously I sent you a portrait shot of Zachary which was taken from this photo. This is better in showing you the long, lean, handsome man he was. To date, this is the only photo I have of him. Emma Vess Edge, wife, first son Franklin age 3, Dorothy age 5 and Mary Anne "Molly" age 7, with Minor Jackson 1 year sitting on Zachary's lap. Year 1893 ZT is son of Minor and brother to John Allen

Here is a picture of Wilbur Marshburn Settles, born 1916 nr. Crestview. He is cousin of the James Filmore group. (Margaret Harris)

My dob is 1922, and I am Dexter Edge Jr. My son is Dexter Edge III. I also have some cousins in the Atlanta area who also go by the name Dexter Edge. (Actually that is J. Dexter Edge.) Dexter comes down thru the Nehemiah Edge branch.

Here are two pictures of John Allen Edge. Son of Minor EDGE and Spicey Ann HART EDGE. Born abt 1852 in Kemper, Co. MS. Father from S.C. mother from VA. John Allen EDGE, born abt 1852 Kemper County, MS. 6 ft or taller, light blue eyes, high forehead, with receding hairline. Original hair color unknown, but it appears light brown or auburn in a picture taken in his 40's, white when older. His hair appears curly. Aquiline nose, thin upper lip. Sons and grandsons very tall, 6'2 or above. Daughters and granddaughters tall, 5'7" or above. (Robin Linn)

Grandsons and great-grandsons of Jesse L. Edge born ca 1807. These men were all over 6' tall and from Okaloosa Co., FL. Most of them were considered to be "string beans." The following are photos of James Filmore's sons. Left to right James Pomeroy, Orris Elbert, William Alonzo with older Orris. On right is William M. Edge and his wife Mary Frances Hall. William is the uncle of James F. and John Wesley, Jr. and brother to George Washington below. Both are sons of Jesse L. All had either sandy red or blond hair. Eyes were generally hazel to blue.

Terry Edge, 6' 4" [right]. Terry's hair runs a bit darker than some of his cousins and his eyes are light brown. Terry is great great grandson of Jesse L.

Graeme Edge of the Moody blues - anyone know how tall he is or color of his hair or eyes?
