Georgia, Monroe County. I, Obadiah Edge being in my perfect mind do make this last will and testament. First, my body to be decently buried and as for such property as it has been pleasing to /god to bless me with. I will my sons Marlin and Warren W. Edge to take my negro woman Fanny, and her children, Antony and Licenzea and all her increase and put it to the use of my daughter Mary Folds and her children, the said negroes being at the time I first owned the woman to my daughter in value to that I gave to my sons Marlin, Garland, Simpson and Warren W. Edge at the time they left me and my will is that my wife Aley Edge shall have her maintenance out of the balance of my property both real and personal equally divided into five parts, Marlin Edge to have one, Garland Edge to have one, Simpson Edge to have one, Warren Edge to have one, and the other part to go into the hands of Marlin and Warren W. Edge for the  use of my daughter Mary and her children.

It is my will that William Folds is never to have any control of any of my property in any manner whatever nor is it to be ever subject to his debts or control or to support him in any manner whatever and it is my will and desire that if my daughter is ever separated from the said William Folds by his death or otherwise so that he cannot have any control of her property is to be given up to her as her own property and it is my will that my sons, Marlin, Garland, Simpson, and Warren W. Edge shall have equal right to distribute my property except as above relative to my daughter's part which is to be managed as above stated.   Given under my hand this 11th day of Feb 1837.  (Signed) Obadiah Edge.(will written in 1837 and probated in Monroe Co in 1845)
