.............. +Hilliard D. TODDWally's Aunt Lillian FAULK married Isaac EDGE of Horry Co., SC and from there we have the link to the EDGE family. Though it has not been proven that there is a definite link to our line, we are working on it. The two families followed some of the same routes over time. If you can give some insight on the line, please let us know!
Some of the folks for whom he was searching:Seeking additional information on ancestors and descendants of my Uncle, Isaac Lee EDGE (1864-1951) and Aunt Lillian (Florence D'Lillian) Faulk EDGE (1890-1938). Natives of Horry County, SC, they moved to Hope Mills, NC some time after their marriage and lived there for many years, but both are buried in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery northeast of Conway, SC. Glad to share what I have on their families with other EDGE/FAULK researchers.
Also seeking additional information about several TODD, FAULK and HARDEE mysteries on NC/SC branches of my family tree:
FAULK - 3g-grandfather, Phillip FAULK (1760-1825) of Columbus County, NC, served in NC Militia in Am Rev, married Mary _________ca. 1780. They had 10 children whose lives are fairly well-documented.
Open questions include:
(1) What was Mary's maiden name? (one rumor is that she was a Hinnant, perhaps a sister of the Sarah Hinnant who m. Richard Faulk; others have suggested that she was of Indian ancestry).
(2) Who were Phillip's father and grandfather? Wright FAULK and John FAULK are possibilities, but evidence is lacking.
HARDEE - Trying to determine ancestry of Great-Grandmother Mary Elizure HARDEE (1820-1857) who in 1838 m. Joseph Jackson TODD (1816-1901) in Horry County SC. Probability is that she was a granddaughter of Joseph HARDEE, Sr. (1752-1831), Am. Rev. veteran who received pension 1828-1831. His pension records show that a Mary "Lizer" Hardee was one of four grandchildren, and that she would have been a daughter of either John or Joseph D. Hardee, who were sons of Joseph Sr. Record also shows that final payment of Joseph's pension in 1831 went to a William Todd and that was the name of Mary Elizure's father-in-law. Joseph Hardee Sr. was married to Penelope, whose maiden name is unknown.
TODD - Family memories indicate that Great-Uncle Ulysses Grant TODD (1868-1939) a half-brother of my grandmother believed that our SC Todds were related to Mary Todd Lincoln. One of Mary's biographers reported that she had six second cousins in SC, but these have not been identified.
Note: I believe some of these folks have been found, but if you have more information, Please e-mail me and I will pass it on. Thanks!
Another HARDEE researcher
Need information on Anderey (Andrew) HARDY, who was in the Brunswick County, North Carolina, census in 1790, and 1800, but missing in 1810. I would like to know where he came from and where he went, and anything else anyone may have. I can be reached at the addresses below. Thank you.William S. Hardee

Southern FAULK Expert
Charles B. Scheizer has been studying the Faulks for many years and has compiled a couple of books on the subject. One is Descendants of Phillip Faulk Sr of Columbus County North Carolina. He would welcome any information or queries about Faulks from the South. If you are asking him for your help, he would appreciate your enclosing a Stamped, Self-addressed Envelope. Charles also wants to thank all the folks who have been sending "family information in birth, marriage and death newspaper articles." His address is:

The following is extracted from Charles' End of the Year Letter to His Friends:
There is a lot of joy when Christmas comes but it also brings considerable sorrow. . . . Within the Faulk family the loss of Wally Schramm of Centralia MO was the worst. A Couple of years ago a voice on the telephone identified himself and asked if I knew about a certain Faulk. Within fifteen minutes I called him back and gave him a line up back to 1740. Wally had come to a stone wall but had seen my name in Salt Lake City.
Thus began a wonderful relationship. Wally was an Internet fan and those of you who browse it know him well. He turned up any number of inquiries which he passed on to me. . . . We will all miss Wally and his cheerful attitude. He had a heart and other health problems for some time but never let that keep his enthusiam down.
